What comes to mind when you think of Waltz? Flowing, elegant, graceful… obscene, and irreverent? Those last two might seem like they don’t belong but in the early 1800’s the English courts thought the Waltz to be denigrating. Even as it began to gain popularity, men we’re warned to shield their daughters from “so fatal a contagion.” (The Times of London, 16th July 1816) The reason that the waltz garnered such disdain from the upperclass was due to the necessary intimate (and at the time, scandalous) positioning of the bodies to properly execute the winding, swift movements of the waltz.
Fortunately in the 21st century, Waltz is enjoyed by dancers and spectators alike without the shame and guilt that accompanied it 200 years ago. The long, elegant movements of the Waltz allow for a fun physical challenge awaiting anyone wanting to take on the dance. Waltz is prevalent on Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky dance floors. Or, have it as a eye-catcher in your back pocket for whenever an appropriate 3/4 timing song is played and you feel like showing off what you know!

Jeff and I stumbled across classes for two step lessons while we were dating and absolutely loved it! We continued dancing until we were expecting our first child. That was over 27 years ago. The time we made for dancing were some of the best moments together. We just haven’t been able to find classes that fit into our schedule. From the first time we met Jonathan and Kelly , we were and have continued to be so impressed with their professionalism. They are timely and organized. They carefully evaluate their students and communicate with them to plan lessons that are fun and challenge at the same time. Since we started taking lessons , our daughter got engaged. Our lessons have been focused on being able to dance to different songs and be able to just enjoy dancing socially. Our 13 year old son finally decided he was ready to learn so he could join in at the wedding reception. We held a family lesson with nieces and nephews ranging from 5-13. Kelly and Jonathan were so patient with them. They actually ran a lesson for all of us and everyone was able to make the most of the time spent with them. The children stayed engaged the entire lesson and were constantly encouraged until they felt confident enough to be able to practice on their own. I have seen my children and their significant others communicate with other and others more comfortably. They look each other in the eye and are more attentive. My wife and I wanted dance lessons before our wedding. Jon and Kelly have been great. They come to our house for lessons, which makes the process a lot easier. Jon and Kelly didn’t teach us a choreographed dance, they taught us how to dance to any song. Our first dance was a hit. Jon and Kelly did such a good job everyone assumed we had been choreographed. We had to explain “we didn’t memorize a dance, we learned to dance.” Now we can dance to almost any song at any wedding or event we attend. We enjoyed the lessons so much that we are continuing to take them even after our big day.
Jon and Kelly are easy to work with and very reasonably priced. They work at your pace and allow the student to have input into the content and structure of the lessons. We would recommend Jon and Kelly to anyone who wants to understand how to dance. They are great teachers and great people to be around.

2 lessons – $152.00
4 lessons – $288.00

Group lessons for special events:
$150.00 for the 1st hour
$70/additional 1/2hr
Lesson packages paid in full at the time of the first lesson will receive a 10% discount. Does not include single lessons.
